Kirk Knowlton, M.D., What the American Heart Association means to me

Updated:Jun 5,2013

Kirk KnowltonIt has been a pleasure to serve with The American Heart Association over the last 20 years. I share the association’s priority to provide research support for young, promising scientists who are identifying better and novel ways to treat, diagnose and prevent heart disease. American Heart Association research funds had a crucial role in my career as a young investigator, helping me to obtain results that led to funding from other organizations such as the National Institutes of Health. It pleases me to see other young investigators supported by the American Heart Association progress to making significant discoveries. And that is what the American Heart Association means to me.
