You can help save lives of people in your community by volunteering to raise money through the American Heart Association's Dear Neighbor Campaign. All you have to do is mail prepared letters to your neighbors. The letters ask them to support the fight against America's No.1 killer, cardiovascular disease.

The Dear Neighbor Campaign takes place during February, American Heart Month. Volunteers are recruited in the fall- the letter kits are mailed on Jan. 15th to arrive in your home around Feb. 1st. As a volunteer, you'll be asked to return donations from your neighbors by Feb. 28th.

Each volunteer kit contains easy-to-follow instructions with supplies to mail letters to everyone shown on the assignment card for your block. (You will receive everything you need to mail the letters except the stamps.) Donations are processed at a centralized bank, but are credited back to your area to benefit your local community.

It's easy and rewarding to volunteer.
