2025 WA Go Red for Women Ambassadors

Meet the 2025 Washington Go Red for Women Ambassadors. These inspiring individuals are sharing their personal stories and insights to elevate awareness and understanding about cardiovascular disease, the leading killer of women in the United States.
Celebrating CHD Warriors
During American Heart Month, we want to recognize and celebrate our youngest heart heroes, the congenital heart defect survivors. Aidree was born with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and volunteers to support the American Heart Association by sharing her journey through our school program, the Kids Heart Challenge.
First Foods Pantry Supports Indigenous Health

Unkitawa opened Owówičhak’u Wašté First Foods Access Pantry. The first-of-its-kind program aims to address the disparate impact of chronic disease among Indigenous populations. Unkitawa collaborated with the American Heart Association to create nutrition guidelines and expand their capacity to distribute traditional foods.
Managing High Blood Pressure
1 in 4 adults in Washington State are living with high blood pressure. When left unmanaged, high blood pressure increases the risk for heart disease and stroke.
Increasing Equitable Access to Healthy Foods
Nearly 30% of Washington families struggle to access enough food to sustain a healthy life due to barriers like transportation, discrimination, the rising cost of healthy food and an absence of options that reflect cultural needs.
Tobacco & Vaping Prevention and Cessation
More than 1 in 5 high school students in Washington State report using an e-cigarette in the last 30 days. Donations and local advocacy efforts enable us to work to stop youth tobacco and e-cigarette use by enacting equity-focused policies and programs that support physical and mental well-being.
Investing in Community-Led Solutions to Health Disparities
The American Heart Association's Bernard J. Tyson Impact Fund invests in sustainable local solutions addressing social and economic drivers of health disparities in under resourced and disenfranchised communities.
Slow Cooker Creamy Tomato Indian Chicken
This delicious dish is sure to warm up any cold evening. Serve it over brown rice or with whole-wheat pita or naan to sop up the creamy sauce.
Go Red for Women
Since 2004, Go Red for Women has addressed the awareness and clinical care gaps of women’s greatest health threat, cardiovascular disease. We haven’t done it alone.
