Kroger is a longtime American Heart Association (AHA) supporter, primarily through its participation in the Life is Why consumer campaign and sponsorship of the AHA’s Healthy for Good initiative. In February 2021, Kroger stores nationwide participated at all store registers by asking customers to Fight Hunger With Heart. Funds raised have helped Kroger, Kroger Health, the Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation and the AHA work together to fight food insecurity in communities everywhere.
Kroger also generously supports the AHA at local events across the country, including Heart Walks, Heart Balls and Go Red for Women luncheons. In 2019, Kroger Health committed to a national sponsorship with American Heart Association’s Healthy for Good initiative, helping the AHA to inspire and empower customers to take a closer look at how their nutrition choices can impact and improve their health.
o In February 2020, Rodney McMullen, Kroger’s Chairman & CEO, was appointed to the AHA’s CEO Roundtable. In 2021, Colleen Lindholz, President of Kroger Health, served as the Executive Chair of AHA’s Heart Mini, the largest single-day fundraising event in Greater Cincinnati.
